Star Wars Hoth Cream (Snow Ice Cream) Recipe and Label

It doesn't require a party to eat Hoth Cream (Ice Cream). However, it does require snow if you want the scoop on how to make homemade, fresh Hoth Cream. It's one of the perks of living in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We get fresh Hoth Cream for breakfast several times each winter. I know, it earns me the "bad mamma of the year" award for feeding my children Ice Cream for breakfast, but the facts are that homemade snow ice cream tastes best with fresh fallen snow. And I'll have you to know my children have never once complained for being forced to eat Hoth Cream for breakfast.

Star Wars Hoth Cream (Fresh Snow Ice Cream)

When I serve it up in my wine goblets, my kids think it's extra special. It's nice that they are all at the age where I can use my stemware to serve desserts without stressing about them being broken (too often).

I have to tell you this is one of my children's happiest memories. It's the reason they tolerate slow satellite internet, well that and all the wildlife and hiking we are privileged to experience up here. :)

So let me share how easy it is to make Hoth Cream. And remember that Hoth Cream is only limited by your imagination. You can change out chocolate or strawberry milk in place of the milk/cream, you can substitute other flavors for the vanilla extract. You can leave out the salt if so wanted.

Snow Hoth Cream (Snow Ice Cream) Recipe

Ingredients:

1 gallon fresh fallen snow, packed
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream (you can substitute milk if you don't have the cream on hand)
1 cup white sugar
1 T vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt

Directions:

Mix the sugar, salt, vanilla, milk, and cream together until well blended. Place gallon of snow in a large mixing bowl. Pour the liquid mixture over the snow, stir well. Taste test, adjust by adding more sugar or milk if needed and serve immediately. Yes, it's that simple.
